Mandate and operations
ACF (Action Against Hunger) is an international humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger. Recognized as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, ACF saves the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. With more than 40 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster, famine and chronic food insecurity, ACF runs life-saving programs in over 50 countries. ACF's 8,000+ professionals work to carry out innovative programs in nutrition, food security & livelihoods, Mental Health Care Practices and Gender Protection and WASH. ACF’s programs directly assisted 21 million people (year 2018 ACF report), along with countless others, through capacity building programs in collaboration with government ministries. Committed to principled humanitarian action, ACF restores dignity, self-sufficiency, and independence to vulnerable populations around the world.
Standby Partnerships programme
ACF deploys through a Standby Agreement with UNICEF to the WASH Cluster Field Support Team. Experts are deployed as WASH Cluster Coordinators and Information Management Specialists to the global team, from which they complete multiple field deployments to various emergencies. Since the 1st November 2020, ACF also manages the Field Support Team Consortium. ACF is member of the Global WASH Cluster Strategic Advisory Group.
ACF has been contributing and engaging with the SBP Network in the following ways:
Participation and active engagement in at least one of the existing Working Groups.
Participation and engagement at the Annual Consultation and Mid-Annual Consultation.
